CHAMBER MUSIC TOLEDO PRESENTS THE TOWER BRASS QUINTET’S CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR CONCERT

The Tower Brass Quintet performs a special program of holiday favorites on the second concert of Chamber Music Toledo’s 2009-2010 Artist Series, Sunday December 20th at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Broadway Street in Maumee.

For nearly thirty years, the Tower Brass Quintet has creatively and progressively shaped their reputation as a premier chamber music ensemble, delighting a broad spectrum of audiences with their unique style of programming and performance. Critics and presenters have consistently praised the Tower Brass for the innovative nature of their concert repertoire, their superb musicianship, and their engaging stage presence.

The Tower Brass launched their international reputation in 1986 with a prize-winning performance at the International Brass Chamber Music Competition in Barcs, Hungary. Since that notable event, the ensemble has concertized in twenty-five states and collaborated with several of the world's other premiere brass ensembles, including the London, Budapest, Annapolis and American Brass Quintets. Concerts and recordings by the Tower Brass Quintet have been heard on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, the American Composer's Alliance Series, Voice of America, Hungarian State Radio and WNCN in New York.

The Tower Brass Quintet has released seven recordings. The latest, entitled “Snowed In ... Again,” features arrangements of traditional holiday favorites and a piece commissioned by the ensemble, “A Christmas Fanfare” by Ryan Nowlin.

Individual ticket prices are $15 at the door ($12 if purchased by Friday, December 18); $5 for college students with ID; and $1 for students K-12. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Toledo Symphony box office at 419.246.8000 and will be available at the concert.
